RouteStops

A Journey from Problem to Solution

Some of the best ideas come from real-life problems—things you wish existed because you'd actually use them. That's exactly how RouteStops was born.

The Road Trip Dilemma: Finding the Right Stops

It all started while planning a ski trip. As a New Rochelle native, I was mapping out the drive when the inevitable question came up: "Where should we stop for dinner?"

I wanted something along the route—not just a place nearby that would take us miles off course. After bouncing between maps, review sites, and multiple apps, I realized there had to be a better way. What if there was an easy way to find great restaurants, attractions, or stops directly along your route? That was the spark for Route Mode—a simple, intuitive way to plan the perfect stops without unnecessary detours.

The Business Meeting Problem: Finding the Perfect Middle Ground

The second lightbulb moment came when my dad needed to meet a client. They both wanted a fair meeting point, but finding the perfect halfway spot was frustrating. Searching manually was time-consuming, and existing tools didn't make it easy.

That's when the idea for Meetup Mode clicked—a seamless way to find ideal meeting spots exactly halfway between two locations. Whether it's for business, a long-distance relationship, or catching up with a friend, it solves a problem that so many people face.

Smart Results That Make Sense

RouteStops doesn't just find places—it finds the right places. By analyzing ratings, reviews, and distance from your route, it suggests stops that are both convenient and worth your time. The interface presents all the key information you need at a glance: ratings, reviews, distance from your route, and estimated time added to your journey.

Building Something I'd Actually Use

I've always believed the best products come from solving problems you personally care about. RouteStops isn't just a project—it's something I built because I knew I would use it. It combines my love for technology with a real need for better travel planning.

Whether you're on a road trip, meeting someone halfway, or just trying to plan a convenient stop, RouteStops makes the journey smoother and more enjoyable.
